Article 11.8 of the ICZN states that "Genus-group names. A genus-group name (see also Article 10.3 <http://www.iczn.org/iczn/includes/page.jsp?nfv=&article=10#3> ) must be a word of two or more letters and must be, or be treated as, a noun in the nominative singular."

Subject: [Taxacom] minimal length ot genus names
We are building a tool to extract taxonomic names from texts, and would like
to know how long the shortest genus names are. Clearly, there is no A, AU?
or at which length do they begin?
Thanks for any comments
Donat
