Y'know, it's JUST a name.  Just a handle by which to call it.  It doesn't have to MEAN anything.  As long as it conforms to the Code (which has pretty minimal requirements at this rank), it's a "good" name.  

It could as well be called the Hillbiliophyta.  Or the Kinmaniophyta.  It's just a word, whose meaning is irrelevant to the thing designated.  

I will say that my consistency hobgoblin would be happier if names of *all* ranks were based on a generic name: Magnoliophyta instead of Anthophyta, Polypodiophyta instead of Pteridophyta, etc.  But that's just me.
