Seeking motivated Ph.D. student to conduct systematics research on
microfungi at Rutgers University/USDA-ARS, Beltsville, MD

Lisa Castlebury, Amy Rossman and Jim White are seeking a motivated
four-year Ph.D. graduate student to contribute to a project on the
systematics of plant pathogenic microfungi.  The project involves using
multigene phylogenies to determine the systematics of the Gnomoniaceae
integrating their asexual states. Funded by the National Science
Foundation Partnerships in Enhancing Expertise in Taxonomy (PEET), the
program includes course work at the Department of Plant Sciences and
Pathology, Rutgers University, followed by research at the Systematic
Botany & Mycology Laboratory in Beltsville, MD, outside of Washington,
DC.  The fellowship is available starting in September, 2007.  If
