[Taxacom] russian translation

Everyone,

I am interested in opinions on what is the best translation software
(preferably freeware) for scientific articles. I have some Russian
papers, as well as some in Swedish and a few other languages as well I
need translated. I searched the archives but could find nothing very
recent. Since there is always new software for this I thought I would
ask those out there who might have some experience. I have a very
limited budget for this.

I have tried a few online programs but one has to be able to scan the
articles in since the articles are older photocopies. HP Precision Scan
Pro allows you to save the document in Russian but seems to garble some
of the letters it doesn't recognize. I can then put the txt into the
translation program if I have a decent copy. I have tried it and it does
pretty well except for the words that are not transposed properly. It
may be a reflection of the quality of the photocopy as well.

Something that I could add a glossary of botanical terms to would be
nice.

Thanks,

Robin
