Dear All,
I was just in a discussion on the merits about DNA Barcoding and one
thing that came to my mind was following. Often it is said that
barcoding would enable an quick analyses of a ecosystem or biota, well,
or smaller bits and peices of biodiversity.
Well did anybody actually try mass sequencing of let's say a square
meter of soil, or so? Or all the insects on a tree or a birds nest?
Would be happy to have a reference of this.
or do we still lack the databases of barcode to compare the resulting
sequences with?
Best
Fabian
