[Taxacom] Bolboceratinae or Bolboceratidae

The present system is based primarily on the work of Browne &
Scholtz. Just a point - no one should get comfortable with any of the
existing classifications of Scarabaeoidea, as the detailed molecular
analyses over the last several years by Dave Hawks and others WILL
result in a more definitive reclassification in the near future.
Suffice it to say, there are several families, and though most of the
families are monophyletic, and will remain in use, the relationships
among them are not what the morphological phylogenies of Browne &
Scholtz suggest. Morphology alone is not sufficient in this case, as
has been seen in many other taxa in recent years. It is likely to
remain somewhat contentious and controversial for a while, at least.

Peace,
