[Taxacom] Question about "paleodicots"

A question has arisen on Wikipedia about an article on paleodicots
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paleodicots). Some have claimed that the
term is a neologism, and that the article contains original research, a
no-no for Wikipedia.

When I hear "paleodicot", I immediately think of the paraphyletic group
left by removal of the eudicots and monocots from the angiosperms, but I
don't have any ready references, just a memory of people using the term
back in the late 1990s. How many of you have heard the term before? Do
you come up with the same definition? Do you know of any literature
references besides the ones in the article? Do you think the term
warrants a Wikipedia article, either the current one or a different one?

Thanks in advance for your comments.
