My database expert has a general rule that nothing is ever deleted from
a database. I wish she were in charge of the afterlife, because I could
be sure that at worst I would be "inactivated".
Another advantage of leaving it that I didn't see mentioned is, what
happens if it is deleted, someone runs across the name in another
context, and tries to re-enter it? Nothing stopping them.
