" Kew has joined with sister institutions throughout Europe to form
the European Distributed Institute of Taxonomy (EDIT), a five-year
project to harness the power of online collaborative working.

In this exciting role, you will start by intensively fact-finding and
modelling revisionary taxonomy, moving on to team development of the
web platform necessary to sustain these processes. You will work with
colleagues in London and Berlin, and travel elsewhere in Europe as
necessary.

Educated to degree level, preferably in Information Systems or
Biology, you will have experience of software systems development
including some element of process or system modelling. Knowledge of
UML; CASE tools; Relational Database; Java and web deployments would
be advantageous.

You will have an analytical and rigorous mind, and an eagerness to get
to grips with a complex problem domain. Self-motivated, you will be
comfortable working with teams in the UK and overseas, and capable of
inspiring confidence in others. You will possess good planning and
organisational skills, and work flexibly with minimal supervision.

CLOSING DATE: 12 noon, Thursday 6 April 2006
INTERVIEW DATE: Week commencing 10 April 2006"

Thanks, and please spread the word to potentially interested parties!
