Google for Internet Database of all life, and existing initiatives already doing this

Although the comments expressed in Gideon Haigh's cover story article in
The Monthly (Issue 9, February 2006) may not directly apply to taxonomic
issues, a read of this article is suggested before 'persuading Google to
partner with' any community or organisation, as Brian Fisher via Robin
Leech is proposing.
