Cormophyta, Embryophyta, or Metaphyta?

Two of the recent texts in plant systematics ("Plant Systematics: a phylogenetic approach" by Judd et al.2002; "Plant Systematics" by Simpson 2006) use Embryophyta with no mention of Cormophyta or Metaphyta.
