Bob, Karl,
list,

Let me introduce a system for conserving small invertebrates-in-ethanol
that is as handy as expensive (14 euro per box plus sending): the
transparant Polysterene box with 50 vials of 2 ml, used for years with
succes by the Museum Naturalis in the Netherlands and by me.
Specimens are individually stored in glass Polysterene box with 50 vials of
2 ml, vials with aluminium screw caps. The transparant box allows easy
strorage (in a drawer) and control over the ethanol (looking through the
underside). When ethanol without ether is used the septa do not detoriate,
at least not after about 10 years. Eventually the septa can be replaced, the
aluminium and the glass will last.

Regards,

Hans
