The Herbarium GB, Goteborg, Sweden announces a position as Mycologist

We seek a broadly trained mycologist to be in charge of the mycological collections 
at herbarium GB. Identification and nomenclatural updating of the collections will 
be part of the responsibility, as well as data basing of critical collections. 
Candidates are expected to interact with visiting researchers and help researchers 
to use the collections optimally. The candidate is also expected to strategically 
collect underrepresented taxa in order to improve the value of the herbarium. 
Research time will be provided, and the candidate is expected to actively apply for 
external grants for his/her own research. Working tasks are decided in 
consultation with the curator of the herbarium and the Head of the department.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in mycology or equivalent, and 
possess very good knowledge of fungal taxonomy and phylogeny. Experience in 
collection care and management skills are desirable and conscientiousness is a 
virtue. Ability to work independently as well as to work in close cooperation with 
others is of outmost importance.
