offers a competitive award for scientific orchid research in the fields of evolutionary and reproductive
biology, taxonomy, anatomy, physiology and ecology of orchids. Successful candidates will have
access to one of Europes largest orchid herbarium collections, a scientific orchid library and, in
cooperation with the universitys botanical garden, to a collection of ca. 2000 live orchid species. The

longer periods. The Institute of Botany offers laboratory access and office as well as the opportunity
to teach at MSc level. Proposals, which define an achievable research task, will be evaluated by their
innovation and realism. The award is available exclusively to post doctoral or higher level academics
with a competitive record in orchid research.
