For those not yet familiar with the newest development of Open Access
publishing (publications costs paid upfront and open access one an article
is published) here its first step into the semantic Web or Web2.0.
The final product is not only a published article, but a document though
peer reviewed, which can be ammended and discussed at the same time, and
thus become alive. Another reason to for open access and implementation of
the commons.

This is another step towards making proper usage of the web. Of course it
will inevitably lead to a debate on who can amend, who to keep quality
control and at the same time incorporate the huge body of data produce for
example by ecologists. It seems also to be logic fusion of Wikipedia kind of
knowledge with specialists knowledge.
It is another strong argument for moving our systematics publications into
an open access environment
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
