Position Announcement: Research Software Developer
 
The University of Kansas Biodiversity Research Center seeks a research software developer (Programmer II) for a U.S. NSF-funded project. Successful candidate will have bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field, two years professional programming experience in object oriented environment with Java, knowledge and skill in software design, systems analysis, object oriented design, 1 year of experience in programming relational database systems, must know SQL, integrity constraints, database optimization techniques, working knowledge of odbc/jdbc/dbi/ado libraries for database access, developer's level understanding of existing and emerging internet standards and technologies (e.g. HTML, XML, CSS, XSLT), highly-collaborative work habits, team collaboration skills and proactive communication skills.The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the US; applicants must indicate visa/residency status.
