Following the copyright caution by Mary Barkworth concerning web posting
of a copy of Spamer (1999), I contacted the publisher of the latter
work, but have not received a definitive reply. However, thanks to
Richard McCourts message I have been able to contact Earle Spamer
himself, and as a result am glad to relay to you his suggestion of the
following procedure, here quoted from his e-mail to me:
"... if you wish, you may indicate to Taxacom that I am willing to send
a pdf file or a photocopy to anyone who asks for it; much as I would
send a reprint in response to such requests. ... I did not have the
facility to create a pdf file, and I'm grateful that you took the time
to do it, and to send me a copy. If this alternative seems to be alright
with you, please pass along this offer" [to] "send individual copies to
those who request it" [from] "this email address, espamer at amphilsoc.org
<mailto:espamer at amphilsoc.org>."
My thanks to the couple of colleagues who offered to post the paper on
their websites. However, for the time being the above seems the wiser
way to go.
Best regards,
