Two positions in Arthropod systematics available: postdoctoral and graduate
fellowship

A one-year postdoctoral position with the possibility of additional years
is available at the Field Museum of Natural History (Chicago, IL, in
collaboration with East Carolina University, Greenville, NC). Postdoctoral
studies will focus on higher-level phylogenetic systematics problems in
Diplopoda. The preferred postdoctoral candidate will have a Ph.D. degree
in arthropod systematics or other closely related field.
We also have a five-year graduate student fellowship position (Ph.D. level)
available in millipede systematics (specific area open) at East Carolina
University (in collaboration with the Field Museum of Natural
History). Prospective graduate students with an M.S. preferred, interests
in arthropod systematics and biodiversity.
Responsibilities and approaches, both positions, include fieldwork
(collecting), and morphological and molecular systematic studies. The
candidates will become members of a growing joint arthropod systematics
research program at the Field Museum of Natural History and East Carolina
University (Petra Sierwald and Jason Bond) funded by a multi-year National
Science Foundation Partnership for Enhancing Expertise in Taxonomy (PEET)
grant. Applicants should email a cover letter, curriculum vitae and list
