Survey on Gulf of Mexico material

The mission of the Harte Research Institute of Gulf of Mexico Studies, at the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Texas, is to be a research institute of excellence to support and advance the long-term sustainable use and conservation of the Gulf of Mexico.

As part of this mission, we are trying to identify museum and institutional collections with biological specimens from the Gulf of Mexico (GOM) region, including the coastal and marine areas in Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, as well as the Gulf coasts of Mexico and Cuba. The results will be posted at GulfBase (www.gulfbase.org). Institutions and individuals involved in Gulf of Mexico research are encouraged to register and be listed as resources at GulfBase.

If your institution has different collections of GOM biological material (e.g. fishes, invertebrates, crustaceans, molluscs, etc), please forward this survey to the person in charge of each collection.

You are welcome to edit the following fields if necessary.

Thank you for your contribution.
