Dear All,
Further evidence from Princeton researchers that there may have been two separate meteor strikes: (1) the famous one off the Yucatan peninsula (ca. 65.3 million years ago), and (2) a second one at an uncertain location (ca. 65.0 million years) which actually finished off the dinosaurs and other taxa for good. Don't know if this new paper will convince me, but it is a thought-provoking hypothesis.
