Dear All,
This link and abstract caught my eye. Not sure if this proposes meaningful changes to PhyloCode, or is just cosmetic PR, but it does sound promising (I'm feeling a bit of cautious optimism). I also found an abstract to a 2002 conference paper co-authored by this same Kurt Pickett which some people may find interesting (on the subject of combining phenetic and molecular data sets, and the problem of information redundancy). Not sure if weighting is one of the proposed solutions to the information redundancy problem (but I would think it would have to be included in one form or another). Anyway, click on the second link below if you want to read that 2002 abstract.
   ----Cheers, Ken Kinman
