*Curator Ichthyology, Zoological Museum Hamburg/University of Hamburg*.
The Zoological Museum Hamburg advertises a curatorship in Ichthyology
(see URL for exact advertisement below). The position's duties includes
curation of the internationally renowned ichthyology collection of the
Zoological Museum Hamburg (approx. 40.000 specimens representing 9.000
species, 1.000 types). Furthermore, the successful applicant will have
to teach at graduate and undergraduate level. The applicant is expected
to maintain an active research program of international rank in
systematics, phylogenetics, biogeography, or biodiversity. He or she
should collaborate with the local research cluster "Earth System
Research" and with the "German Center of Marine Biodiversity."
Furthermore he or she should be available for public requests and
willing to help develop our public exhibition. Payment is according to
the German A14 salary, which depends on age and marital status
(currently between 2998 to 4346 Euro per month before tax, increased in
steps each two or three years). Applicant must have a degree in biology
and should have experience in work with museum collections, extra-mural
funding, and teaching. Skills in German language are necessary.
