capitalizing vernacular [English] names

It's a matter of perspective, probably based on what kind of language
you first learned to read.  Capitals do indeed make the names pop out
clearer, but when too many things pop out the effect is diminished and
it just becomes crowded.  When there are fewer capitals the paragraph
structure is clearer because the starts of sentences are obvious.
