Last week I mentioned in a post that the LACM Lepidoptera section was in a
state of ill-function.  Dr. Brown, who is curator there, contacted me and
in our email exchange set me straight.  Thank you Brian!  The information I
had been told (by a few people) was untrue.  Good news indeed.  While there
is no longer a specific person in charge of the Lepidoptera, the collection
remains well cared for and open to researchers.  It is just that personnel
have shifted and some downsizing so that old contacts (access lines) may no
longer function.  Anyone desiring to access the LACM Lepidoptera should
contact Dr. Brown to make arrangements. BBrown at nhm.org
