It appears that some are now in the business of furthering causes of those commissioning their work. In the unpublished "Report to the Governor of Wyoming and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service", the authors discuss how the endangered subspecies is not a separate entity from another subspecies. I thought some of you might be interested to see this application of taxonomy to conservation biology.

The author has similarly done research to dispute the contention that the Peninsular Bighorn Sheep is a unique subspecies, and commented that too much federal land was put aside for the species anyway. 

Developers and industry are probably lined up at his door to provide funding for their projects.
