             Change of Director at the Nationaal Herbarium Nederland

On the 1st of September 2005  Prof. Erik Smets will succeed  Prof. Pieter
Baas as Director of the Nationaal Herbarium Nederland (NHN), with its three
branches at the universities of Leiden, Utrecht and Wageningen. Prof. Smets
will combine the NHN directorship with the Professorship of Systematic
Botany at Leiden University and will   also continue to act as head of the
laboratory of Plant Systematics of the K.U.Leuven (Belgium).
