PhD position available to study European Violets

The Leiden branch of the Nationaal Herbarium Nederland has a 4-years PhD
position available to study the taxonomy, phylogeography and conservation
status of European populations of Viola persicifolia and allies. In
addition to research, the PhD student is also expected to teach botany to
students of biology at Leiden University, The Netherlands.
Applicants should have a MSc in Biology, a good knowledge of European
vascular plants, experience in fieldwork, greenhouse experiments,
taxonomic/phylogenetic/phenetic methods and molecular techniques (DNA
sequencing, AFLPs).
Salary ranges from 1.702 EURO gross in the first year up to 2.283 EURO
gross in the fourth year when working full-time.
