I assume (correct me if I'm wrong) that a librarian "publishing" a book
record on a 3x5 card 30 years ago vs. exlusively on the internet today,
remains in each case anonymous yet receives credit from his or her
employer. In science, and particularly taxonomy, individual credit is
essential, and lasting recognition is tied to printed publications (acc.
to ICB/ZN).

To realize the dream we need to resolve this conflict of contribution vs.
credit on the internet (it doesn't exist in print) that librarians don't
seem to have.
