Straying even farther from Robin's thread, perhaps too far, but:

How about everybody sending and receiving "SMS" these days.
I admit being an outsider to this fad, but somehow doubt that they are
actually transmitting the entire 'service' with each message.
Would it be politically and morally incorrect to just, say, receive an SM?

To paraphrase that old Police refrain:
"Sending out an SMS, sending out an SMS ..."
