Unpublished names

Dear Taxacomers,

The issue of the unpublished names (nomina inedita) in botany will be discussed
during the coming Nomenclatural Section of the IBC in Vienna. Not at least
because quite a number of them figure in databases which are accessible online.
So, although they are not published in the sense of the ICBN, they are
'presented' to the taxonomic community anyhow. In the genus Peperomia, with 3007
published names, I'm currently aware of 377 unpublished ones (12.5% of the
number of published names). I have no idea whether this is much or not. Does
anyone of you have an idea of the percentage of unpublished names in the
genus/family he/she studies?
