scanners: herbarium specimen

Friends:

        Thanks for the several suggestions on scanners for herbarium specimens.
Two basic ideas prevail:

        1. Flatbed scanner, DIN A3 etc etc. One disadvantage is reduced depth
of field.

        2. Just use a digital camera.

        We are going to go the second route. (Just ordered a copy stand for the
camera yesterday.)
