Field work in India

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone on the Taxacom list might have suggestions for
me about botanical field work in India. I need to collect two native
species of Passiflora found in Assam, in the far northeastern corner of
the country. Any information on contacts for obtaining permits or for
people to work with in the field would be greatly appreciated. So far I
have had a very difficult time trying to contact people at universities
and govenrnmental offices. I have tried the Botanical Survey of India as
well, but I had no luck. It seems that not very many people I have spoken
to about India in particular have any contacts. Surely people must be
doing field work there?

Thank you most sincerely for any help,
Shawn
