I find a lot of old names tied to cemeteries.  In Texas, at least, all the cemeteries are marked and labled on the state's highway department maps.  Some also show on the U.S.G.S. topo sheets.  You may have such a name, one that doesn't "ping" as a place name for a gazetteer.  The suggestion to look for "Queen" or "Reina" variants is a good one.  In CA, you may well be looking for something that was originally "Reina de Somethingorother."

Alternatively, you may be dealing with an old community or subdivision that was swallowed up by a larger entity.  Looking through old plats and tax rolls may turn up a Regina for you.  Is there a county historical society?

Other possibilities included creeks, hills, campgrounds, etc., that have names, possibly shortened through use.
