Daar All,
I am a graduate student at the University of Georgia (USA) working on the
systematics of the genus Callisia (Commelinaceae). Thus far, and thanks to
the gracious assistance of the Smithsonian Institution and others, I have
been able to acquire most species in the genus as live specimens. However,
circumstances are such that I am not able to go to the field to seek out
those species not yet in the greenhouse collection here at UGA. Both DNA
extraction/amplification and anatomical analysis are facilited by the use
of live, as opposed to Herbarium, specimens.
Might anyone know of the whereabouts of live specimens listed below from
which I might acquire cuttings?
Also, I am on the lookout for English translations of certain French
papers (also listed below). Does anyone have suggestions?
NOTE: The LIST OF SPECIES (with synonymy) AND TRANSLATED FRENCH PAPERS
below was made originally in a Word file. The email server here removed
the italics, boldface, and other formatting in that file, and I was not
able to send the list as an attachment. Sorry for any legibility
inconvenience.
