Looking for variable chloroplast or mitochondrial regions

Dear Taxacom subscribers,

I am studying the phylogeny of a group of 10 very closely related Senecio
species (within sect. Jacobaea; Asteraceae). I have sequenced the trnT-L
igs, trnL intron, trnL-F igs, psbA-trnH igs, petA-psbE igs, matK and
flanking trnK regions (all chloroplast regions) and the mitochondrial nad1B-
C intron. Surprisingly, there is hardly any variation between the sequences
of these species (in total 11 variable characters, of which 2 are parsimony
informative).

What other chloroplast or mitochondrial regions could I sequence that might
be sufficiently variable?

I hope that someone can help me,

Pieter Pelser
