No, "Diagnosis" does not cover everything I understand Richard
Pyle is wanting to be covered. He asked for a term for original
concept, and in botany that is served by the term "protologue",
which covers not only the diagnosis or description, but also
everything else associated with the name at its valid publication:
"description or diagnosis, illustrations, references, synonymy [if
any], geographical data, citation of specimens, discussion, and
comments" (see definition of protologue, ICBN, footnote to Rec.
8A.4).
