This is simply not true (at least as a generalization). Many cladists are
very interested in evolutionary changes within lineages, and all cladists
are interested in the evolution of recognizable synapomorphies, which are a
subset of that. Cladists simply believe that these things can best be
studied in the context of recognized lineage groups.
