Outlets for alpha taxonomy

This does not seem to be the case in the field of malacology, where virtually all of the most highly regarded journals welcome alpha taxonomic papers.  There may be a related problem, however, which is the members of professional review committees somehow giving less weight to publications in single-discipline journals -- even though those may have as rigorous a peer-review process as more generalized journals.
