Just for general info. The Neodat database (not a working collections
database, but a static searchable compendium of museum records of
Neotropical fishes from 29 instituitons) (www. neodat.org)  is in an Access
database. It has over a dozen tables, one of which has over 400,000 records,
another has 125,000 records, and the rest have several thousand or tens of
thousands each. It has been online for almost three years now with no
reported problems. It probably does not get all that many simultnaneous
hits, but it does average about 30 hits a day.
