I hope someone can help us home in a collecting locality from the early 20th
century in East Africa. The specimen (an insect) was collected by the Hungarian
big game hunter Kalman Kittenberger (Katona). The label states:

Mto-ja-Kifaru, Africa or.

One reference indicates that the site is in Tanzania, but the best we've been
able to locate is a water hole (Mtoja) in Tanzania, and the Kifaru (Rhinoceros)
Mountains in Kenya. Kittenberger worked widely through British East Africa and
even into the Belgian Congo, collecting for the Hungarian National Museum of
Natural History as well as hunting and guiding.

If anyone might be able to help, please contact me at Johnson.2 at osu.edu.

Thanks very much.
