Taxacomers,

Kew Gardens announces the availability of a new online database
of Herbarium specimens from northeastern Brazil. This project is
part of the Biodiversity Subprogramme of the Plantas of Nordeste
Project (PNE), a bilateral collaboration between RBG Kew and the
Associação Plantas do Nordeste - APNE, supported by the
Brazilian and UK governments, among other partners.

To access the database, point your browser to

http://www.rbgkew.org.uk/data/repatbr/homepage.html

The first release of the database comprises Compositae
specimens. Types have been digitally imaged. You can search for
specimens using a variety of criteria, and view the results on
screen.

List members are invited to try out the service, and please let us
have your comments by email to brazilrepatriation at kew.org
