re Database of Genera

There are also several generic homonyms between prokaryotes and plants
and/or animals. Can I suggest that when creating new generic names that due
consideration be given to the existing names of plants, animals, and
prokaryotes. Prokaryote lists can be found at:

http://www.dsmz.de/bactnom/bactname.htm
or
http://www.bacterio.cict.fr/

The Zoological Record has an animal genera database and also links into a
prokaryote database (which ignores the current Bacteriological Code and is
confusing) at:

http://www.biosis.org.uk/free_resources/ion.html

and for plants I find the following two useful:
Index Nominum Genericorum (ING)
http://www.nmnh.si.edu/ing/

NCUs
http://www.bgbm.fu-berlin.de/iapt/ncu/genera/Default.htm
This server was down when I tried just now, but all other URLs are correct.
