Rheophilous and Rheophyte

Although the term 'stenophyllous plants' is the oldest for the group, and I 
respect priority of names also in concepts, the term appeared 
inappropriate,. because of the confusion it may cause as many stenophyllous 
plants do not occur in streambeds ... **** Therefore I have chosen the word 
'rheophyte' ****, which is also similar to the terms in zoology, as Naumann 
(1931) indicated: rheophile, rheophob, rheomorphosis for "von strömendern 
Wasser abhängige Formbildung". Plants confined to caascades and waterfalals 
could then be "torrenticolous"rheophytic specializations.
