Maxillaria gorbatschowii

According to a small internet news from today, a German botanist, Frank 
Brandenburg from Hildesheim, named a new Orchidaceae in lembrance of the last 
head of state of the Soviet Union, Michael Gorbatschov. It´s "Maxillaria 
gorbatschowii" from the bolivian mountain forests.

The news says that Gorbatschow is a friend of Frank Brandenburg and has a love 
for gardening as well.
