Asphodelaceae vr. Aloaceae

As far as i understand from recent literature Asphodelaceae and Aloaceae are
two segregate families for Liliaceae. In Aloaceae the leaves r thick,
succulent with spinous margins and the flowers r tubular. The two families
resemble each other in that the flowers are in spikes on lealess stems. The
Asphodelaceae has got leaves thin, flat and fistular-terete and margins not
spinous with perianth segments rotate and free or almost so to the base or
fused and shortly tubular.
