Dear list members,

It is with great sorrow that I inform subscribers to this list that Ebbe
Nielsen of CSIRO Entomology died yesterday. His death was completely
unexpected, as he appeared to have recovered fully from the heart attack he
had about 18 months ago. He died in America, while visiting colleagues and
making his way to the inaugural GBIF Governing Board meeting in Montreal.
His seemingly boundless energy, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the study
of biodiversity will be sorely missed.
