In addition to the books already mentioned, I can suggest three more books which
give some useful information, although not all of them are specifically aimed at
botanical illustration:

Jastrzebski, Z.T. (1985) Scientific Illustration. Prentice Hall. ISBN
0-13-795931-1. A step by step guide, very thorough, but not specifically aimed a
plants, but dealing with them here and there: Jastrzebski himself is a fish
illustrator.

Honomichl, K. Risler, H. and Rupprecht, R. (1982) Wissenschaftliches Zeichnen.
Gustav Fischer.; ISBN 3-437-00380-1. A small, general book on scientific
illustrtion.

Blunt, W. (1971) The art of botanical Illustration. Collins. ISBN 0-00-213002-5.
More of a history of botanical Illustration, but the appendix gives practical
tips.

Best regards,

Jan
