Hey, any pediculophiles out there;
I've become intrigued with one of the early members of the California
Academy of Sciences, Hans Hermann Behr, who did some significant early
botany in San Francisco but was more active as an entomologist. His
biography reports that he gained revenge on a certain detractor, who wrote
a lot for the local German-language newspapers of the time, by naming a
particularly despicable louse after the chap. My question is, of course,
which louse?? Any guesses?
