We can consider the crop plant Triticale a "species" developed by
artificial hybridization of wheat (Triticum) and rye (Secale), followed by
chromosome doubling. Another example is Raphanobrassica, an artificial
hybrid of radish and cabbage. The plant world has a number of such
examples of plants that are the product of direct intervention by man and
behave as good "biological" species. However, in many (most?) cases they
are unable to survive without proper cultivation.
