use of GIS in systematic entomology

I am writing a manuscript (for submission to the American Entomologist)
about the use of GIS techniques in entomology. From a brief survey of the
Internet and a preliminary survey of printed literature, it appears that
GIS has been used by many people in fields such as integrated pest
management, ecology, and medical entomology. GIS technology appears to have
been little used in systematic entomology except perhaps for the occasional
production of maps. I would appreciate learning about any systematic
entomology papers that use GIS technology, especially as regards topics
other than just distribution maps (topics such as geographical analysis of
character state variation, GIS based analyses of biodiversity,
biogeography, etc.). If any entomologists in research fields other than
systematics are reading this, I of course would also appreciate receiving
information about the use of GIS technology in these other research areas.
Thanks for your kind consideration of my request.
